My specific research interests involve issues of online safety, security, surveillance, and anonymity. With a long background in media production,
I have blended my interests to more specifically consider the relationship between digital security and media, with my dissertation focused on a cultural internet history of doxing.
Other interests include free and open source software, hacking culture, grassroots media networks and the communities who build [autonomous] internets.
Sometimes I do digital safety consulting for researchers, students,videographers,and journalists.
